120 Jahre Shell in der Schweiz – Eine Geschichte voller Bewegung
Vor 120 Jahren begann unsere Reise in der Schweiz. 1906 wurde in Genf die Lumina S.A. gegründet – ein Unternehmen, das mit Leuchtpetrol und Mineralölprodukten handelte. Was damals als kleiner Schritt in die Energieversorgung begann, entwickelte sich zu einer Erfolgsgeschichte, die bis heute anhält.
Schon früh erkannte Shell die Bedeutung der Schweiz als Standort für Mobilität und Innovation. 1920 übernahm Lumina die Generalvertretung für Shell-Produkte, und 1949 wurde aus Lumina die Shell (Switzerland). Von da an prägten wir die Energieversorgung des Landes entscheidend mit – ob durch den Betrieb der Raffinerie in Cressier von 1966 bis 2000, die Einführung des ersten 100 Oktan Benzins im 2005 oder die Versorgung mit Jet fuel an den Flughäfen Zürich, Genf und Bern.
Doch Shell war immer mehr als nur Benzin und Diesel. Wir haben Trends gesetzt: Mit V-Power brachten wir Premiumtreibstoffe auf den Markt, mit Shell Lubricants entwickelten wir Schmierstoffe für höchste technische Ansprüche und auf der Strasse wird Shell Bitumen für die nachhaltige Asphaltierung von Verkehrsflächen eingesetzt. Und wir haben Partnerschaften geschaffen – mit Migros, migrolino, Agrola, Eni und Volenergy – um unseren Kundinnen und Kunden noch mehr Komfort und Service zu bieten. Mit unser Shell Card sind wir für Geschäftskunden dank unserem Netzwerk von über 1'100 Akzeptanzstellen in der Schweiz ein starker Partner.
Heute stehen wir an einem neuen Wendepunkt. Die Mobilität verändert sich, und Shell gestaltet diese Zukunft aktiv mit. Wir investieren in Elektromobilität und betreiben mit Shell Recharge und evpass eines der grössten Ladenetze für Elektrofahrzeuge in der Schweiz – mit über 1’100 eigenen Ladepunkten landesweit. Wir bieten innovative Produkte wie Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) und biologisch abbaubare Schmierstoffe an.
Mit rund 260 Tankstellen, einem wachsenden Netz an Ladepunkten und 120 engagierten Mitarbeitenden sind wir bereit für die Zukunft. Unser Ziel bleibt klar: Wir halten die Schweiz in Bewegung – damals, heute und morgen.
